Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate (good quality, chopped)

  • 6 tbsp hot chocolate powder

  • Mini marshmallows (about 1 cup or enough for each bomb)

Directions

  • Use the microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler to melt the chocolate gently.
  • Spoon melted chocolate into the molds and spread it evenly using the back of a spoon or pastry brush. Ensure the layer is thick enough to hold its shape.
Chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes until hardened. Repeat with a second chocolate layer if needed for sturdiness.
  • Carefully remove the chocolate shells from the molds.
Add 1 teaspoon (or enough to fill, of hot chocolate powder and a handful of mini marshmallows into half of the spheres.
  • Warm a plate or pan. Gently press the rim of an empty chocolate sphere against the warm plate to slightly melt the edges.
Immediately place it on top of a filled half, pressing lightly to seal. Run your finger around the seam with a bit of extra melted chocolate for a secure bond.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over the bombs or sprinkle with festive toppings like crushed candy canes or edible glitter.
  • Place a bomb in a mug and pour steaming hot milk over it. Stir and enjoy the creamy hot chocolate!
